Brent started in the experiential learning industry in 1999, at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. He worked on the campus ropes course for two years as a teambuilding facilitator and supervisor, where he got his first taste of leading groups through experiential programs. After graduating Magna Cum Laude and receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Parks and Recreation Management with an outdoor leadership emphasis, he went on to do a six-month internship with a company in Northern California. During his internship, Brent learned to build state of the art ropes courses, inspect and maintain existing courses and assist in trainings for ropes course staff.
The internship led Brent to a full-time job managing a corporate teambuilding company located in Orange County, California. As the company's operations manager for two years,

Brent had numerous responsibilities including: developing and implementing teambuilding programs, marketing and supervising programs, purchasing necessary supplies for programs, and maintaining the challenge course facility and equipment.
In December 2002, Mr. Bystedt moved back to San Diego where he became a freelance facilitator and worked for 13 different teambuilding companies throughout Southern California. He has facilitated hundreds of youth, community, college and corporate group programs for many prestigious corporate companies such as Pfizer, Countrywide Home Loans, Red Robin, AOL Time Warner, Qualcomm, Honeywell, AFLAC, Kyocera, Sony, Weinerschnitzel, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Cox Communications, Pizza Hut, William Lyon Homes, Anthony Robbins, and many others. During that time, Brent also attended numerous ropes course and facilitator trainings and has accumulated over 750 training hours and over 3500 hours as a facilitator of team development and leadership programs. Brent has become one of the most experienced, passionate and dedicated individuals of our local industry and is well-known throughout the field.
