Basic Ropes Course Technical Training (40 hours)

This comprehensive training format is for new facilitators looking to learn about facilitating activities on a low and high ropes challenge course. This training can also serve as a refresher for facilitators who have not taken a ropes challenge course technical training in some time. This training will cover such topics as: learning knots; belay technique and practice; the use, care and proper set-up of equipment on a low and high course; proper spotting technique; climbing commands; staff responsibilities and competencies; standard policies and procedures; risk management; and basic ropes challenge course standards.

Maximum Workshop Size: 12 participants


Advanced Ropes Course Technical Training (20 hours)

The Advanced training is an extension of the Basic Training and is intended for facilitators who have either gone through several basic ropes course trainings in the past or for lead facilitators of programs that need to know the skills required to run a group and staff through a ropes course program safely. The advanced training will cover such topics as: high ropes challenge course rescues (including verbal, assist, & cut-away); inspections; lead staff responsibilities and competencies; standard policies and procedures; risk management; emergency procedures; and advanced ropes challenge course standards.

Maximum Workshop Size: 12 participants

Basic Facilitator Training (30 hours)

For those looking to learn or brush up on their “soft skills” as a facilitator, then this training is for you. This training is a 20-hour training that teaches the basics of facilitation. This training will cover such topics as: learning and practicing how to use the basic models and theories in your facilitation and processing of activities; the proper sequencing of activities in a program; how to read, adapt and be flexible with groups; and framing activities that groups can relate to and understand.

Maximum Workshop Size: 20 participants

Advanced Facilitator Training (20 hours)

Learn and practice advanced theories and models to use in your facilitation and processing. This training will help to empower participants to make decisions and commit to real action that produces results in programs and in their lives. Learn and practice framing of an activity and the language that a group can relate to and understand.

Maximum Workshop Size: 20 participants

Teambuilding Initiatives Workshop (10 hours)

This workshop is designed to teach new and experienced facilitators a variety of different teambuilding initiatives that appeal to many different types of groups. Trainees will experience a sequence of initiatives including: name activities, warm-ups, icebreakers, get-to-know-you activities, a variety of initiatives, and trust activities. A packet of written activity descriptions and props for each of the activities in the workshop will be provided to each trainee.

Active Processing Workshop (10 hours)

What is active processing? Ask yourself, are you or your participants bored of the same old routine of getting in a circle and talking about an activity they just did, over and over again throughout the day? Are you not sure about what else to do besides talk about an activity with the group?
Through participation in this workshop, facilitators will learn lots of creative and active ways to process an activity that appeals to all types of learning styles. Engage your participants through the processing activities of the workshop that captures their attention and makes it easier for them to express their thoughts, ideas, and feelings.
